Eisenberg: Jimmy Smith is Worth the Risk

I like the Jimmy Smith pick because the Ravens are stalled behind the Pittsburgh Steelers and needed something new and dynamic, a game-changer, someone whose talent could alter the rivalry. They couldn’t get such a player in free agency because, well, there has been no free agency so far in this crazy offseason, and the Ravens historically don’t make huge splashes there anyway.

One fourth-round draft pick won't be ready to run until August. Another wasn't ready to talk to his new team because he was in the middle of his graduation ceremony. Those were the least of the complications Saturday at the NFL draft, which resumed on its third and final day at Radio City Music Hall against a backdrop of a restored lockout.

The report, which was posted on The South Florida Sun Sentinel's website, says Michi Nogami-Marshall stabbed her husband with a kitchen knife Friday, April 22, 2011.

NFL linebacker Ray Lewis is helping a 10-year-old New York boy whose mother drowned herself and three children by driving a van into the Hudson River. The surviving child, La'Shaun Armstrong, was to attend a Manhattan fundraiser of the United Athletes Foundation on Saturday night. Some of the proceeds will go to him, including scholarship money.
